The Rookie viewers are left confused. The most recent schedule that the network released doesn’t have The Rookie

premiere date in it, which indicates that the 7th season of the show will not return this fall.

Is The Rookie Renewed for Season 7?
The good news is that The Rookie is definitely coming back. The upcoming seventh season of the fan-favorite police procedural has been ordered by ABC for the spring of 2024 and is expected to be released within the 2024/25 broadcast season. The Rookie has not been canceled, but merely delayed until midseason.

Just like the fans of the show, Eric Winter, who plays training officer Tim Bradford on the show, was disappointed to hear this. However, finding out the reason behind the decision softened the blow, as the actor told Hello Magazine:

“I know how much of a priority The Rookie is to ABC and with this being an election year and a lot of time being devoted to those sorts of things, they’re trying to protect the show. There would be too many gaps, and the fans don’t love that. So they’re really trying to put us in a lineup where we can give eight episodes in a row with no interruption,” Winter explained.

However, there is no need to worry about the departure of the show’s star.
