Recently in Emmerdale Will Taylor (Dean Andrews)
encountered Rose (Christine Tremarco), a face from
his past – and the experience rattled him so much he
didn’t mention anything about it to Kim Tate (Claire King) when he got back.
This is because Rose is actually his daughter Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley)’s mother, who hasn’t been present in Dawn’s life since she was a little girl. The meeting with Will was purely accidental, but Rose’s arrival comes at a hugely emotional time for Dawn and the rest of the family.
Dawn and Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle)’s baby Evan is seriously ill and has to undergo tests which eventually reveal that he has a form of leukaemia. After Dawn meets Rose she’s in turmoil about how she feels.
Rose takes the initiative and heads to Home Farm. Kim is somewhat surprised by her arrival, and when Rose demands to see Dawn, Kim insists on sitting in on the meeting.
An emotional Rose tells her daughter that she wants to make up for lost time and have a relationship with her, but Dawn insists she doesn’t want that.
Kim decides to get Rose to back off and offers her £2,000 to leave the Dales and go back to Spain, where she’s been living. Rose refuses so Kim raises her offer to £3,000 and when Rose refuses to accept Kim makes it clear that she’s perfectly capable of taking more extreme measures to make sure Rose leaves Dawn alone.
