EastEnders has teased tense scenes between Kat Slater and Tommy Moon next week.
This summer, the soap started exploring a child-to-parent abuse storyline involving Tommy and Kat.
Tommy’s behaviour has continued to worsen, and in July he punched his mum in the stomach before calling the police when she fought back.

Only Alfie knows the true extent of what has been going on, after Kat confided in him and showed him her bruises from the incident.
Since Kat went away with the twins for several weeks, Alfie is confident that he has managed to get Tommy under control – but the situation is far from over.
The Walford teen continues to spiral out of control in this week’s episodes, and Alfie loses his job at the bookies when he attempts to reach out to his son.

In scenes that will air next week, there is some good news for the family, as Kat tells the boys that Alfie has got the job of manager at the Minute Mart.
But in the meantime, the Moons are currently struggling for money, and Tommy wants to help. He plans to steal from the café, but he is caught by Kathy.
Kathy pays Kat a visit to tell her what Tommy did, and she suggests that Kat should speak to her son about his behaviour.

This isn’t the first time Tommy has been caught stealing this year, but when Kat tries to talk to him, he turns aggressive and physically intimidates her.
Later in the week, Jay is celebrating his 30th birthday and has received another video message from his late wife Lola to mark the big day.
He shows Kat and Phil the special video, but Tommy ends up ruining the mood. When Kat tells him to stop making such a racket, he is vicious towards his mum – leaving Phil stunned.

Later, Kat tries again to talk to her son about his stealing from the café, but the conversation goes wrong once more.
The situation gets more intense when Tommy tries to leave, and Kat grabs him. What will happen next in this dramatic confrontation?
