The Mitchells were left shocked in EastEnders
this week when Stevie Mitchell (Alan Ford) crawled
out of the woodwork after a 25 year absence from son
Billy Mitchell’s (Perry Fenwick) life – and it soon
became very clear just how out of touch he was with the family affairs.
During a tense reunion between Billy and his dad, Stevie asked if he could give him a contact number for grandson Jamie Mitchell (Jack Ryder).
Viewers will know that Jamie tragically died after being run over by Martin Fowler back in 2002 – though it appears that Stevie was kept very much out of the loop.
Following the death of Jamie’s dad Charlie – who, unlike Billy, had grown up in Stevie’s care – Jamie was taken in by uncle Billy.
The Mitchells were left absolutely devastated by Jamie’s death, though it seems no one thought to reach out to Stevie to let him know.
Even despite cutting off his family, viewers have been left baffled by Stevie’s ignorance, with many taking to social media to question how he has gone so long without knowing.
