BBC Casualty enthusiasts are all chiming
in with the same reaction as Dylan Keogh’s fate seems ‘sealed’.
In the latest episode of the medical drama,
Casualty’s Dylan Keogh (portrayed by William Beck)
made a comeback on screens after leaving fans in suspense about his future when he stormed out of the ED. The uncertainty over whether audiences had witnessed the last of him was put to rest as his colleague Stevie Nash (Elinor Lawless) paid him a visit at his abode.
Still reeling from the loss of two patients and convinced he overlooked a penicillin allergy, Dylan was found immersed in stacks of research papers. “This is a deep dive, Dylan,” Stevie observed. “We wouldn’t be here if I’d read them earlier,” he lamented. “You know you shouldn’t be kicking yourself for a one-in-10,000 event,” Stevie scolded.
“But he wasn’t just one there was another patient that died completely avoidable,” Dylan retorted sharply. Stevie attempted to reassure him that mistakes leading to a patient’s death involve more than just one person, but Dylan was not consoled. “Please don’t. You wouldn’t have missed a penicillin allergy, would you? I wouldn’t expect that in a first-year [student doctor],” he challenged her.
