Casualty star Neet Mohan warns of huge consequences for ‘vulnerable’ Rash after dad’s death

Rash Masum (Neet Mohan) is in for a traumatic

time in Casualty as he falls apart following his dad’s sudden death.

Ashok died suddenly in February after being hit by

a bus. Following his dad’s dementia diagnosis last

year, Rash desperately tried to juggle working as an NHS doctor and caring for his father, but it understandably wasn’t easy.

A few weeks ago, while Rida (Sarah Seggari) was looking after Ashok, she was shaken to discover the front door was wide open and Rash’s dad was nowhere to be seen.

In the hospital, as Rash found himself dealing with an Ebola patient, disaster struck when he discovered Ashok was in Resus after being hit by a bus.

Suffice to say the death of his dad has rocked Rash to the core. In tonight’s double instalment of the medical drama, focus is on the beloved character as he attempts to juggle working at the ED and processing complicated emotions.

‘It’s roughly five days in his life and we’ve reached a point where Rash hasn’t been very present for the last few weeks on Casualty, really since his dad died’, actor Neet Mohan explained to Metro.co.uk.

‘He’s been there but we did the funeral episode and then he was in like one or two scenes but not really over the last couple of weeks. We find that he came straight back to work but then took six weeks off and then returned back. But he’s returned back in a really vulnerable state.

‘He’s in the space where he feels most comfortable but it’s the place that now carries this memory of his dad being brought in and not being able to save him. Of course as doctors they’re often not able to save people, but so often they do. This is a moment where he’s in this space and it hits him all of a sudden.’
