Emmy-Nominated Thriller Starring Grey’S Anatomy Actor Becomes Netflix Hit – Breaking News Updates

Killing Eve, featuring former Grey’s Anatomy star Sandra Oh, finds new success on Netflix. Oh was part of the original Grey’s Anatomy cast, appearing as Cristina Yang in seasons 1-10. Since leaving the show, Oh has starred in a number of high-profile projects, with Killing Eve one of her most notable. Oh received Emmy nominations for her work in all four seasons of Killing Eve, a feat made more impressive by the five nominations she received for Grey’s Anatomy a decade earlier.

Like Grey’s Anatomy, Killing Eve remains popular today, as evidenced by new data from Netflix. Sharing its viewership charts for the week of April 15-21, the streamer revealed that Killing Eve season 1 placed third in the Top 10 Most Popular Shows (United States). The full chart can be seen below.

Killing Eve’s New Success Is a Welcome Reminder of Sandra Oh’s Appeal

Older shows frequently appear in Netflix’s Top 10 for the week, often because the streamer has recently added the show to its library, which is the case with Killing Eve. However, viewers also enjoy rewatching shows they’ve seen before for a certain storyline or performer. Oh’s enduring popularity shouldn’t be underestimated and could have helped push Killing Eve season 1 to the number three spot on the chart.

Part of Oh’s appeal is her ability to pick interesting, unexpected projects. Following her Grey’s Anatomy exit, viewers probably didn’t think she would do something like Killing Eve, which is very different in genre and tone. However, Oh found success there, turning in a performance that surprised audiences and proved Cristina didn’t have to be her only noteworthy role.

While Oh may be best known for Grey’s Anatomy and Killing Eve , she seems destined to add many other exciting projects to that list in the future.

She’s done the same thing with subsequent projects that have continued to show off her range. 2023’s Quiz Lady found her playing basically the opposite of Cristina to hilarious effect. Oh’s current role in HBO’s The Sympathizer is already garnering praise and again finds her in a dynamic role. While Oh may be best known for Grey’s Anatomy and Killing Eve, she seems destined to add many other exciting projects to that list in the future.
