Actor Cole Brings Plenty’s death has devastated his real family and his on-screen family. The 1923 actor

who played Pete Plenty Clouds was set to play a pivotal role in Season 2 of the show.

• Cole Brings Plenty’s body was found in a wooded area outside Kansas City on April 5.
• He’d gone missing the previous Sunday. after an alleged domestic violence incident.
• The 27-year-old’s cause of death has not yet been revealed.

“I am deeply saddened to confirm that my son, Cole, has been found and is no longer with us,” the actor’s father Joe Brings Plenty, Sr. shared in a note on social media.

He went on to thank everyone who helped in the search, and asked for privacy.

On Wednesday (April 10), the Johnson County, Kan. Sheriff’s Office released a bit more information. They state that all law enforcement groups are working together with the Medical Examiner’s office to learn what happened.

“There is no indication of foul play in the death of Cole Brings Plenty,” a post on X/Twitter reads.

Who Was Cole Brings Plenty on 1923?

Cole Brings Plenty played Pete Plenty Clouds on 1923. His role was small during the first few episodes of Season 1, but as the season ended, it became clear he’d play a big role in Season 2.

It’s been a year since Season 1 ended, so here’s a recap:

Pete Plenty Clouds is integral to Teonna Rainwater’s (Aminah Nieves) character arc. As Season 1 ended, she was recovering from an attack that left Hank Plenty Clouds (Pete’s father) dead. Hank had given Teonna shelter as she tried to escape the Native boarding school. Her death was all but certain as Father Renaud was looking to avenge the deaths of two nuns (killed by Teonna).

During the attack on Hank, Pete had been off looking for Teonna’s father, Runs His Horse, whom he eventually finds. These two men return to Teonna separately, with Runs His Horse saving Pete from an attack by three priests sent to recover Teonna for Father Renaud (Sebastian Roché).

Runs His Horse, Teonna and Pete make a plan at the end of S1E8: They’re going to travel south in hopes of hiding among Comanche Indians. Before they depart, he tells his daughter not to fall in love with Pete.

Needless to say, she doesn’t listen.

Just before the season wraps, viewers learn that this trio and Father Renaud are on a collision course for Wyoming.

Will 1923 Replace the Pete Plenty Clouds Actor?
No one involved with 1923‘s production has commented on the death of Cole Brings Plenty. Filming for Season 2 has not begun, meaning the show will have to decide if it’s best to write off Pete Plenty Clouds or find a new actor to play the role.

Given that the character is only a supporting character, the latter seems most likely. It’s worth noting that Cole brings Plenty’s uncle is Mo Brings Plenty, who plays Mo on Yellowstone.

Fans are also assuming that Teonna Rainwater is a descendant of Chief Thomas Rainwater, Mo’s boss on Yellowstone.
