EastEnders’ Linda Carter has made a life-changing decision after Dean Wicks’ admission, in the show’s latest episode.
This week, Dean’s trial for Keanu Taylor’s murder has been taking place, but faced with being found guilty, Dean
admitted in court that he raped Linda in 2014 – and she was framing him in revenge.
In the latest episode, after Dean forced a mistrial, The Six gathered to talk alongside Johnny. Linda was relieved that
Dean had told the truth, but the others were more concerned.
Kathy told Linda that the police will go through the case again and re-interview everyone, and Denise was worried that she might forget what she originally said.
The women argued about what their next steps should be, and Kathy explained that now Dean had confessed to Linda’s rape, they were now framing an innocent man.
Suki urged the others to keep their heads down and get on with their lives, ending the conversation, but Linda didn’t seem so sure.
Meanwhile, Dean’s plan didn’t play out as he had hoped. With no new evidence to convict anyone else, his solicitor told him he could end up facing concurrent sentences for both rape and murder.
Elaine was happy that the truth was finally out, but Linda wasn’t ready to move on and her urge to drink grew stronger than ever.
Stood in the spot where she killed Keanu, Linda became overwhelmed and dashed to the cellar where she grabbed a bottle but smashed it before she drank a drop.
She phoned Phil to ask for help and finding her inconsolable in the cellar, he comforted her.
Linda was filled with self-hatred and realised that there would be no end to her plight. Phil agreed that her life will never be the same and explained that she had to learn to live with herself and stay alive for her kids, or she would drink herself to death.
Wracked with guilt and indecision, Linda later looked in on her sleeping children and kissed them goodnight.
At the police station, Dean made a phone call to Jade and urged her not to jump to false conclusions when the rape charge comes out.
Linda walked past him, and demanded to speak to the detective, making sure that the tape was recording.
“It was me,” Linda admitted. “I did it. I killed Keanu Taylor.”
In a massive twist, Linda has finally confessed to the crime, but what will this mean for her and the rest of The Six?
